What’s the Best Way to cut a Chicken breast?

What’s the best way to cut a chicken breast? Sounds like a silly question to some. Like, how else could I cut one? Why does it matter? Well for Thanksgiving or a nice dinner, when your called on to carve the turkey or chicken, its nice to know what your doing. This method gives you nice even pieces rather than uneven thin cut off the side pieces and its easy to present beautifully!

To butcher a chicken is kind of self explanatory as you just cut at the joints. But what’s the best way to cut a chicken breast? Let’s get into this.

From the middle of the chicken, you want to cut as close to the bone as possible, working your way toward the bottom of the chicken, making sure you cut from the front to the back, near the thigh. The cut starts almost vertical and then turns toward the outside of the chicken, almost fileting the breast off the chicken. If done right you should be able to remove the breast as a whole. Then turn it sideways to cut it in even pieces as thick or thin as you like. This turns out beautifully and the presentation is great.

So next time your girlfriends Mom or Father in-law asks you to cut the Turkey on the big day, you’ll be confident to do it right! I hope this helps the next time you need to carve the bird! Leave a comment for any other tips you may know and subscribe to my Youtube channel for more life topics.
